We're Not In Texas Anymore
So it's spring time in Texas...Ahhh...flowers bud, trees have new leaves, the weather is warming up and then come the storms. For all you locals, this video was taken today on Hwy. 287 and Sublett Rd. and for you non-locals..this is on the way to Mansfield near Arlington. Today was crazy to say the least, but we were fortunate not to get hit. Yes...Keller was spared, but a lot of others were not. So sad. I went and got the girls early from their teacher and we made it home just in time before the rain hit. We were very fortunate, but others were not. Praying for those who were hit. I knew it must be really bad when David Finfrock was at the news station in the middle of the day. I found out there were 12 tornadoes!
The only time I remember being close to a tornado was in 2000 when I was working at the Bombay Headquarters in Fort Worth. I decided to leave work early March 28, 2000 cause the weather was going to get bad, but I didn't know how bad it was going to get until I came home and saw the video above. Plus I had just been through softball size hail on the way home. We had just moved into our house. Great, I thought! We just moved in this brand new house and it's going to be hit by a tornado.
We were spared in 2000 and yet spared again in 2012. Twelve years later and twelve tornadoes today. I think we are in Texas anymore.

Snowbird City
Steven has been doing some training for work down in Ft. Lauderdale so I decided to use my AA miles and go. I love Florida. I grew up going to the panhandle for vacations with my family and sometimes even got to bring a friend along. But...this part of Florida was much different....more of like a city on the beach. People everywhere...people escaping the cold to come to Florida for the winter. Florida residents call those people snowbirds. We also got to celebrate Steven's 40th birthday. He doesn't look 40 does he? This photo above was taken the night of his birthday. We went to a restaurant called Casablanca Cafe on the beach. So now we both have been out of town on our 40th birthdays. Maybe we are in denial of our age so we get away. :)
This was my yummy drink at one of the restaurants on Islamorada...an island of the Keys. We decided to take advantage and drive down to the Keys one day.
Loved getting to wear my shorts in February. Ahhh..how I miss the warm weather there. Here in Texas we have our "warm" days in the winter, but in Florida, it's warm a lot of days throughout the winter months. I even got a little bit of a tan. I love getting a tan.
This was our view from our balcony. Our hotel was actually on a canal. It's prettier than this pic above. This was just part of our view. Instead of trains like by our house, its boats and of course yachts you have to wait for in Florida. It was a great time. Not back to reality. Now I can't wait for summer to get here. No beach near me, but at least I'll be able to enjoy the warm weather again.

What's the Secret?
So the secret is out, but Steven and I have known about it for a while. What secret you ask? Well, Secret Weapon the book of course by Kevin Freeman. The above picture was taken at a meeting with Kevin Freeman helping him get ready to launch his book.
What is Secret Weapon about? Well, the fight against economic terrorism of course. What you ask is so great about this book? It explains what happen to our economy. The terrorists have attacked. This time they have manipulated the oil market, manipulated our stock market through naked short selling, and short selling, etc. and well the 3rd phase which Kevin says we are in right now is the devaluation of the US dollar. Yep...the dollar may not be the reserve currency of the world anymore soon. Scary huh?
Once the book came out on January 16th, it wasn't too long before Kevin was asked to appear on Glenn Beck for 3 days in one week. Amazing! Then, Secret Weapon made it to #17 on the NY Times Best Sellers List the first week it was out! The word was getting out and Secret Weapon was and still climbing the charts. Soon the book made it to #16.
People have come to hear Kevin speak at events and book signings. We are trying to help him get the message out. It's not about selling books as much as it is getting the word out to save our country. We are at war. This time its not planes crashing into buildings, it's an attack on how we live. Jobs have been lost, companies have failed, gas has increased, food has gone up...The list goes on. We need to pray for our country and pray now. You can help by praying and finding out more about what you can do to protect your family and your country. Go to http://secretweapon.org/ to find out how to tell the secret to others. It's just the weapon we need to fight this fight.

No Ferris?
So was anyone else out there disappointed there is not going to be a Ferris Bueller's Day Off 2?? I was. So it turns out it's just a commercial for a Honda CRV. Really?
So I guess I can't relive my freshmen year of high school watching another Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I guess I can't dream of taking my own "day off"..Oh wait..I don't get a day off.
Anyway,it's a bummer and how mean of them to tease me like that.

Christmas Cheer!
Where does the time go? Yes..I'm just NOW blogging about Christmas, but what can I say, it was a whirlwind!
We did a lot for the holidays including traveling to St. Louis to see Steven's family for a week. I love going up there! Our festivities always start out though by going to my grandmothers (my dad's mom's house) for Christmas Eve. We call her Granny...and boy does she spoil these girls just like she used to spoil me. :) And by the way, just as a side note...I was the only grandchild on one side of the family (that would be my mom's side) and there was lots of spoiling going on. Please hold your comments until I am done. Ha!
My friend Liz and I took our kids and Tammy's to see Polar Express in our pj's at the Omni. It was great besides the 4 year old little girl kicking Abby's chair every 5 seconds! Uhh! Abby didn't say anything about it till the show was almost over so she had to deal with that the whole time. Other than that it was neat to see it on the IMAX screen.
Even Ben got Christmas presents this year. Yes...I'm a bad mom on the dog front when the holidays come around. Most of the time I forget to get the dog something for Christmas, but not this year. Yay for me! He got a flat looking stuffed raccoon and a soft bone which will probably not last through the end of the year because he will probably put a hole in it.
Here is one of the girls cousins in St. Louis with Abby. Her name is Taylor and she LOVES the girls. I think my nieces are precious. And I'm not kidding. I'll have to post some pics later of them.
Whew! Ok..I'm tired just from posting about Christmas! Glad to be back in a routine, but miss the holidays!
January has also been a whirlwind, but I'll have to share that later....Stay tuned!

Armor of God
Ephesians 6:11Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
So I'm a little behind on my posts lately, but I thought I would post my Sunday Sharing a little late.
As some of you may know, Steven and I have been helping Kevin Freeman with is book Secret Weapon. Kevin wrote this book to make people aware and how to protect themselves. He quotes 1 Corinthians 10:31 "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." He is doing this for God not for himself. He is doing this for our country. Since we have started I think the enemy has been attacking. Our dog Ben got very sick yesterday and I spent the entire day cleaning the carpets. Then we have a few kid issues this past week, which I know is common, but still you have to deal with them and sometimes that's hard too. Thankfully Ben is better. Other members of our team have been sick and have had various other issues. So when the enemy attacks isn't it nice that we can put on the armor God gives us so we can fight the enemy? Have you put on your armor?
