Well Done Bears!

I couldn't believe what I was seeing on Saturday night so I just had to post! Still basking in the glory of this one! The Baylor Bears, my school, beat the #5 team in the nation! This was the first time EVER to beat OU! So all I can say is well done, Bears, well done!

Sundae, Sundae, Sundae!

So last Wednesday night was the last night of Olympians. Olympians is for the kiddos. The kids come and they learn about praying, having a quiet time, reading their Bible, etc.
This is Chidrens Pastor Jason Noble. Is he a good sport or what? I don't know how many childrens pastors would let kiddos make a sundae on his head. He let them because the girls won a contest. They raised more money than the boys for a little boy named Isaac who is very sick in Honduras. Yeah for Pastor Jason! Isn't he awesome!
I'm so thankful for the time our volunteers put into the Olympians program. My kids have grown so much in their walk with Christ since they started going last spring. So thank you volunteers and Pastor Jason for letting our kids have a little fun on Wednesday night and thank you for teaching our kids who Jesus is and how we can become like him. You Rock!

Baylor Homecoming 2011

We thought it would be fun to take the girls to Baylor Homecoming this year. I always like going back cause I can remember it just like it was yesterday when I was a student there. We took the girls to see Pigskin (a show put on by the sororities and fraternities) which was again incredible. The girls loved it and we were looking forward to the parade the next morning.However....

we didn't make it to the parade the next morning due to an argument the night before on who was going to sleep on which side of the bed. Really? We are going to fight about this? Uhh! So long story short, we didn't end up going because we were up late the night before settling and argument. And you know who did not get her way...Sooo we missed it. :( I do wish some more of my friends could've been there, but having kids who are elementary age is a busy time I'm discovering. Still...it was nice to go back. You know when you go back some where and it still smells the same, looks the same and well it's just that sweet feeling you get when all you had to worry about was passing your classes and having fun. All in all it was a good time, but I want to see more of my Baylor friends next year. So are you coming next year? Would love to remember the good times with you!

Oh Joyful Night!

There's a party going on in heaven tonight! Why may you ask..cause my Abby got baptized! And her daddy got to baptize her. Steven baptized Ashlyn too. I think it is so neat that our church allows the dads to do this. It makes it so special.
And her friends came to celebrate with her.
We started this tradition with Ashlyn and now Abby. We gave Abby her very own Bible with her name inscribed on it. ....and well the color..purple of course for Abby!

Another awesome thing about tonight is that Abby got to be baptized with her friend Mackenzie. She has known Mackenzie since she was 2 years old. What a neat thing to share with a friend!

After each baptism at our church we let balloons go because like I said there is a party going on in heaven cause each one of these people gave their life to Christ and that's something to celebrate! So if you see a balloon floating around, you never know, that may be from a person whose life is now changed because they have come to Christ. And there just might be a party going on in heaven with God and His angels. Have you joined the party?

Christmas Already?

Really? Do we already have to be playing Christmas music and putting lights on our houses? Can we just enjoy Thanksgiving before the Christmas chaos starts? Don't get me wrong. I love Christmas, but we start celebrating Christmas in July around here and that is too early! So let's all slow down and enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday.

A Little Funny

Steven and I have been using an app called myfitnesspal.com. It measures your calories of what you eat every day and helps you maintain or lose weight. I got a little chuckle today when I saw this from one of my friends on facebook. All of us who are female will appreciate this...ok...well at least some of us. :)

Halloween Tipton Style

This was a different Halloween for us this year. What do you mean by different...Well, this is the first time my kids didn't want to do my very favorite things that we have always done as a family. First, my youngest didn't want to go to the pumpkin patch. Then both girls didn't want to watch "It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" They told me it was the same show every year so it was boring! How can they not want to watch Charlie Brown???

I guess it's not all about me is it on holidays. It's not supposed to be right? So Sunday we went out to the pumpkin patch. I did finally convince them. :) I had to really convince Abby that we had to have her picture taken in this fake jail. She was thrilled as you can tell by the picture. I have a picture of the girls taken in this "jail" every year since they were 2 and I wanted to keep going. My youngest had other plans, but she finally slowly shuffled her way into the jail and let me take her photo. Ahhh the joys of having a strong willed child.

However, the patch got better when we spotted their favorite characters, Phineus and Pherb.
And see it's great when your kids are older and they can take the pictures of you and your spouse! What fun!
However, they still wanted to trick or treat of course! They weren't going to give that up! I say though when they hit puberty...we are done!

Hope everyone had a happy Halloween whatever your family decided to do. And thank you to the Bourlands who let us tag along in their neighborhood for trick or treating! We had a blast!
